Crazy to think about the road we’ve traveled to get here.

With all of the changes over the years, I’m writing to give an update on recent updates within Wyre.

Five months ago, Mike Dunworth told the board that he felt it was time for him to step down as Wyre’s CEO and asked if I would take over the role. Outside the board, our team, and investors, we haven’t made mention of the transition and I wanted to reach out and give an update about the change.

First, Mike’s still involved but he’s taking some much-needed time off.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without Mike and there’s literally nobody in the ecosystem who’s got the big picture perspective that’s needed to envision a future for crypto. He’s led Wyre through two massive bear and bull markets, countless pivots, and has built Wyre’s brand to what it is today.

I’m pumped to see what he’s going to be involved with in the future 🚀

As for Wyre, we’ve had our marching orders since we pivoted in 2018.

Our mission is to empower fintech projects to execute on their vision by offering them secure access to the largest financial network in the world (the Wyre Network).

I know that if we succeed, we will help rapidly accelerate the growth of an open financial system. A system which enables many use cases that we see on a daily basis:

• building rails for companies who unlock financial aid and immediately distribute it to global health workers — something that hasn’t been possible through traditional payment rails
• investment platforms with their payment and liquidity facilities effectively allowing new projects to access investment capital that hasn’t been available to them in the past
• providing DAI liquidity to platforms that are dedicated to providing a secure store of value to hundreds of thousands of people

To accomplish this mission, the team has built a simple set of tools that allows fintech projects to materialize their visions.

Our instant Fiat-to-Crypto Checkout gateway is now being used by hundreds of applications and has provided a channel for over 400k+ new transactions by partners over the past few weeks.

As for our flexible APIs (Transfers API, Custody API, Users API), we’ve seen incredible growth since our focus in 2018 — see the table below!

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the entire team’s dedication to improving the quality of service to all of our partners and end-users. We’re a small team of 23 but I see everyone putting their whole heart into it every day.

I look forward to working hard and continue earning the trust of all of our partners and team members.

I’m excited as to what the future holds for Wyre — it’s a real privilege to be able to be part of history in the making.
